The Art of Presentation
Photography in the Cayman Islands is an essential component of real estate sales and is usually the first key to getting a potential purchaser through the door of any home for sale. Whether you are selling a multi million dollar luxury estate or a one bedroom condo the photographic presentation of your property is of paramount importance, in our technological age the first impression will usually be a photograph on a website, it must be captivating and tell the unique story of your home, be that luxury lifestyle, location, architectural prowess or exceptional value. No matter the price point of the property it will probably be one of the single largest purchases the buyer makes and the photographic presentation should therefore reflect this. Knowing the value of high quality real estate photography, Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty has a full time photographer with more than twenty years experience on staff, who is able to come out to your home as soon as it is listed and if necessary return at different times of day to create a photographic portfolio that will do justice to the sale of your home. At Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty we like to refer to this as the art of presentation.
“A bad photograph will turn a buyer away as quickly as a good photograph will attract them. Good real estate photography is not preferable it’s essential”
The Art of Painting the story
When you are contemplating which real estate company to list your home with, you should pay special attention to the level of photography the realtor is able to offer, look at the photography for a variety of listings on their web site and in particular properties in a similar price range to your own property. The first image you see of any home for sale should capture the essence of what the property has to offer, for example the Cayman Islands has many canal front homes, a good photographer will take the time and effort to position themselves in such a way that the canal front aspect will be immediately obvious from the first picture shown, most realtors however will snap the first shot that comes to mind, which is usually the front of the house. This rule of real estate photography is critical along the Seven Mile Beach, no matter how beautiful a condominium is on the inside, the primary reason for purchase of that condo is the fact that is sits on one of the finest stretches of sand in the Caribbean. The common mistake made by many realtors with no photographic knowledge is to assume that the buyer is familiar with the Cayman Islands and that therefore they don’t have to photograph the surrounding location. The Sotheby’s International Realty brand has such a powerful global reach that Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty realizes keenly that someone searching for a beach front home in the Caribbean may be doing so whilst sitting in a coffee shop in Australia and in all likelihood has never heard of Seven Mile Beach and may not even be familiar with the Cayman Islands as a Caribbean destination. A picture may be worth a thousand words but only if it quickly and succinctly tells the right story. At Cayman Islands Sotheby’s International Realty we like to refer to this as the art of painting the story.
