Immigration & Entry Requirements
The immigration process in the Cayman Islands is quite lengthy and complicated. In addition it changes frequently as new laws get passed or changed.
Work Permits
The maximum allowed time for work permits on the Cayman Islands is 7 years, after that you will be required to leave for at least 2 years. There are some exeptions to the rule, and in some instances work permits will be extended up to 8 years, which at that time an application can be made for perminant residency.
Temporary work permits for up to six months have no expensions, though employers can apply for a one year permit prior to the experation of the temporary permit to avoid having to leave the island.

Residency
You can qualify to apply for perminant residency if:
- you are legally on the island for more than 8 years
- you are married to a Caymanian
- you are a wealthy retiree
- you are en entrepeneur or investor
