Shopping
There’s no shortage of Duty-Free Shopping in Cayman and you’ll be able to find all sorts of treasures, such as gold, diamonds, jewelry, watches, designer sunglasses, make-up, perfume, and of course rum and cigars.
There are three main supermarkets on Grand Cayman
Foster's Food Fair with three locations: Airport Road, The Strand West Bay Road, and Republix Plaza in West Bay.
All Fosters Food Fair locations are open 7am - 11pm Monday to Saturday.
The Strand branch has a pharmacy that is open 7 days a week.
Hurley's Supermarkets have two locations:
Hurley's Grand Harbour, Lil' Hurley's Food Store on Ocean Drive in East End.
Open Mon - Sat 7am - 10pm.
Kirk Supermarket is located between George Town and Seven Mile Beach.
Open Mon- Thurs: 7a.m - 10p.m. and Friday and Saturday 7a.m.-11p.m.
Along with these three major supermarkets there are many specialty markets and convenience stores located throughout the island. Our supermarkets are not licensed to sell wines or spirits.
Bakeries
There are some wonderful bakeries on Grand Cayman. All of which hire professional pastry chefs and on any given day, you can pick up fresh bread, croissants and an array of cookies and cakes. All supermarkets also have in-house bakeries.
Liquor Stores & Wine Merchants
Liquor carries heavy duty tags. For example, duty on hard liquors is CI$10.50 per litre. This means that 50% of the suggested retail price of CI$23.50 for a litre bottle of Appleton rum is duty. Duty on wine is CI$27 for a 12 bottle case; champagne 25% the total landed cost; over proof liquors CI$14.25 per litre; liqueurs CI$12 per litre and duty on beer CI$1.50 per litre.
