These were the last of Cayman's districts to be settled, and are now considered to be home to the friendliest residents in Cayman. Now prolific on Grand Cayman, the first almond tree was planted here. Enchanting Willie Ebank's farm at Hutland on Northside has a long term feeding program that has rescued the West Indian Whistling Duck from extinction. At dusk ornithologists can delight at the possibility of sharing a sunset with six to seven hundred of these birds on the edge of Malportas Pond.
The best of Cayman's North Wall diving is to be found stretching from Old Man Bay across to Spotter's Bay. With a higher than average chance of spotting eagle rays, turtles, sharks and barracuda, favourite deep wall sites with the locals are Babylon, Julie's Wall and Black Rock Canyon. However, these are susceptible to adverse weather conditions, so one has to wait for the right time to find calm enough seas.
Pricing for homes is very reasonable here when compared to the rest of Grand Cayman and are from low to mid range. This is also an area to consider when looking for a short term rental income as the sandy beaches and relaxing environment are ideal for visitors.
